Nunes Predicts: Discovery Process In Roger Stone Case Will Be Fascinating

Steve Martin still a wild and crazy 'SNL' guy — as Roger Stone

President Donald Trump lashed out at media again on Twitter after a longtime ally's indictment, saying that "Roger Stone didn't even work for me anywhere near the Election!"

Stone arrived at the federal courthouse in a black SUV and is expected to plead not guilty to charges that he lied to lawmakers, engaged in witness tampering and obstructed a congressional investigation into possible coordination between Russian Federation and Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

An unidentified "senior Trump campaign official was directed to contact Stone about any additional releases and what other damaging information [Wikileaks] had regarding the Clinton Campaign", the special counsel's office wrote in its indictment of Stone.

Stone, arrested on Friday in an early-morning raid on his home in Florida, sat in the US federal court in Washington in a blue suit and tie.

The political operative and self-described dirty trickster faces charges that he lied to lawmakers, engaged in witness tampering and obstructed a congressional investigation into possible coordination between Russian Federation and Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

When Fox & Friends talked about the Stone raid on Tuesday, Ainsley Earhardt said Napolitano told the show producers that the Federal Bureau of Investigation sent 29 agents and 17 vehicles to Stone's house, while only 12 SEALS raided bin Laden's compound. "You can't push a button, and I can't recall precisely, in detail, granularly, conversations, emails, events from 2016", he said. Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday by an FBI SWAT team.

Roger Stone pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges he lied to Congress about his communications pertaining to the stolen Democratic emails published by WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign.

As he left court Friday after posting a $250,000 bond to secure his freedom pending trial, Stone said, "I have made it clear that I will not testify against the president, because I would have to bear false witness against him".

All of the charges against Stone are unrelated to President Donald Trump or his presidential campaign.

The indictment does not accuse Stone of co-ordinating with Russian Federation or with WikiLeaks on the release of hacked Democratic emails.

Thirty-four people have been swept up in the Mueller investigation.

"I do agree that Roger wanted me to find out from Wikileaks", Corsi said. There is no allegation in the indictment that Stone actually communicated with Wikileaks. "The other, I think very real possibility, is he just finds a cover-up". Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) agreed that it's a "pretty damning indictment" and said Stone's defense is pretty typical of "every white-collar defendant in this circumstance".

"At the same time, our leaders tell us we need Robert Mueller - an all-powerful prosecutor accountable to no one to protect us from threats to - brace yourself here - democracy", he added.
