Mueller report is blow to U.S. Democrats' plans to probe Trump

Barr is preparing a summary of the findings of the special counsel investigating Russian election interference. The release of Barr's summary of the report's

The special counsel's investigation established that President Donald Trump and his campaign associates did not collude or coordinate with Russian Federation in its efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, according to Barr's summary of Mueller's report. Mueller did not draw a conclusion one way or the other as to whether Trump's behavior counted as obstruction, and will leave it to Barr to make a decision to prosecute.

That conspiracy theory, which has distorted American politics for more than two years, expired in an instant Sunday when Attorney General William Barr delivered Special Counsel Robert Mueller's "principal conclusions" to Congress...

Barr also exonerated Trump of the obstruction of justice allegations, concluding that the evidence presented by Mueller is not enough to establish the charge in court.

Lawmakers from both parties are still pushing for the full report to be released so the public can know exactly how Mueller determined that the Trump campaign did not coordinate with Russian Federation in 2016, and his reasoning on the obstruction question.

In addition to the security clearance issue, Cummings' committee is probing Trump's alleged scheme during the 2016 campaign to buy the silence of two of his former mistresses, Playboy model Karen McDougal and pornographic actress Stormy Daniels.

Despite Trump's claim of total exoneration, Mueller did not draw a conclusion one way or the other on whether he sought to stifle the Russian Federation investigation through his actions including the firing of former FBI director James Comey. Even as his most loyal followers stick with him and the rest of the country is left exhausted and jaded, many Americans are sick of seeing the highest representative of their nation caught up in scandals on a daily basis.

Barr's letter seemed all but certain to further dampen Democrats' enthusiasm for impeaching President Trump, which had already been flagging because party leaders including Pelosi said the process would be too divisive without a smoking gun that spurred a sense of bipartisan agreement on the effort. An obvious reason Mueller, "being barred from indicting the president", would lay out an extensive case for and against criminal obstruction but not give his prosecutorial opinion is that he's "teed up the question of presidential obstruction for evaluation by a different actor - to wit, by Congress".

"I think Democrats and the liberal media owe the president, and they owe the American people, an apology". Mueller did not make a determination on whether Trump obstructed justice. "They're the ones that stopped him".

A few hours before the summary was released Sunday, House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff said he believed there was "significant evidence of collusion" in an interview with ABC News.

"I appreciate Attorney General Barr's diligence in providing a summary of the Special Counsel's conclusions so quickly", Collins said.

ABC News" "The View' co-host Joy Behar has regained some cultural currency during the Trump administration with her constant commentary aimed at the president and members of his inner circle. Barr said Mueller found no evidence that Trump or his associates conspired with Russian Federation. If the report says that the investigation concludes that no one from the campaign was involved in the election rigging stuff, then it really says that.
