Google I/O: Foldable phone support is coming in Android Q

Huawei Mate X foldable phone

There are now not details regarding the design of Google's foldable, but it's possible that it will be different to what we have seen so far. However, that doesn't stop the trend from progressing, as other smartphone manufacturers including Google are starting to develop their own foldable technology, although not a good new thing for the Korean company. However, we're not losing hope because there is the Huawei Mate X.

Tech titan Google is looking into foldable technology even as Samsung's first-ever super premium foldable phone flamed out in embarrassing fashion. All that is clear for now is that Google won't be officially announcing one into the market anytime soon. And yet, here we are with Android Q Beta 3 and its Screen Continuity feature to support that exact use case. "We've been doing it for a long time", Google's Mario Queiroz told CNET before I/O. "The use case is going to need to be something where you go, 'Hey, I definitely need to have this.' Right now, you don't need to have a foldable".

As per United States regulations, Samsung was required to notify customers that the pre-orders would be cancelled in the event the product had not been shipped by May 31, it said in a separate statement to Reuters.

A foldable device is also being prototypes, which shouldn't be a surprise.

"Google has also experimented with the foldable form, said Mario Queiroz, who leads development of Pixel phones, ahead of the search giant's I/O developer conference". Well, we have no idea, but the demo that Google ran on stage at I/O showed Android running seamlessly on a device that looked a lot like the Galaxy Fold.
